ERE issues licenses given for certain deadline that may be renewed and modified.

• License for electricity generation - up to 30 years
• License for operation of electricity transmission system - up to 30 years

• License for electricity trading - up to 5 years
• License for transmission of natural gas - up to 30 years

Each subject may apply to have a license for the abovementioned activities after completing all the required documents in compliance with:

• Law No. 43/2015 "On Power Sector"
• Law No. 102/2015 "On Natural Gas Sector"
• "Rules and procedures on Licensing, Modification, Full/Partial transfer and renewal of licenses on Power Sector" approved by the Board of ERE, No. 109, date 29.06.2016
• "Rules and procedures on Licensing, Modification, Full/Partial transfer and renewal of licenses On Natural Gas Sector" approved by the Board of ERE, No. 97, date 04.07.2017

The Board of ERE, reached a decision for starting or non-starting the procedures to review each application that deals with the ERE authority to grant, amend, renew, transfer and license removal. Within 2 days from the decision making date for the decision on starting the procedures ERE publishes in the written media the announcement for application and ensures a period to wait for the objections of the third parties related to this application upon certain activity. The ERE Board reaches the final decision to either accept or refuse the license application based on the deadlines mentioned on the above acts, started on the publications date in the media.
